This video was filmed at the Cauliflower Alley Club reunion in April 2009 by Susan Kirk and edited by Pete Maguire. Copies were sent to our friend, Paul "Butcher" Vachon. Paul's wife told me they would show it to company, whenever they came around. Paul sent DVD copies to Luna in Florida. I never heard from her. In spending time with Luna, I was surprised at how girl-next-door pretty she was, even at 47 years old.
I also sensed her timidity and vulnerability when she was not in character. She was delightful. If only we could see ourselves as others see us. Near the end of the video Luna walks up to Ted Dibiase and embraces him, looking him squarely in the eyes. It is a touching and tender moment. Melissa Dibiase told me she wanted a copy of it over coffee one morning with Ted at the 2010 reunion. I never got around to sending it to her. I will now.
Update: Thanks to the many of you for your kind words about this video. Here is additional information in response to your questions.
The presenter is Bishop Jason Sanderson, aka promoter and professional wrestler Jason Wolfman Sanderson.
We were sitting at the table directly behind the Vachons and that is why I moved the camera to the back of Butcher Vachon's bald head in hopes of getting a profile shot of him. I didn't You can see the backside of Butcher scampering to Luna's post talk photo shoot to make sure she is alright . . . another tender moment recorded. Mad Dog Vachon is seen sitting at their table. The back of the head shot captured during Luna's speech is that of Cauliflower Alley President and professional wrestling legend, Nick Bockwinkel. In order to film past Nick, I had the video camera in my hands as high as I could reach, following Luna through the view finder.
The picture held by Jason Sanderson that Luna refers to is one taken of Luna, the Butcher and Owen Hart, at the show that took Owen's life, later that evening in a terrible accidental fall.
The back stage photos in the OPW and WWF show in 2000 feature pictures of the Hardy Boyz, Eric Watts, Gangrel, Mrs. Rick Vyper and the incredible Sherri Martel pictured with OPW's head referee Dennis Heflin and Venom who also appeared on the card. Another surprise is how pretty Sherri is, without make up or in character. She and Luna were very good friends and wrestled each other for years all over the world as despised adversaries!
