Our favorite prodical son, Dexter was OPW's first wrestling student.
We remember 17 year old Dexter coming to Flamin Raimon Downey's World Wrestling Empire events on 11th street.Dexter would sit in the back of the arena and mercilessly heckle the Prince of Professional Wrestling, Devlin Blanchard. Devlin got so ruffled and ticked that he challenged Dexter to get in the ring with him.
Dexter also wrestled in the first match of OPW's first event at Riverlanes in January of 1998. Dexter has been flying around the ring and wrestling all over the country ever since. Pete Maguire came up with the "Hardtimes" nickname after an incident in which Dexter left a knot on an antagonists head in the Tastee Freeze parking lot!
Notice that Dexter is wearing mismatched wrestling boots. One was given to him by Jimmy Kane and the other is rumored to have been from Shane Cortez or retrieved from a dumpster, no one is quite sure ..... humble beginnings and hard times, indeed for our young hero!
