Also known as Hollywood Doc Buffwell and Dr. Kerry Buffwell, Doc Savage is an icon, a living legend in the clandestine inner circle of the professional wrestling industry's top promoters and creative teams.
Buffwell was already an accomplished actor, stuntman, screenwriter, producer, body builder, nutritionist, acupuncturist, biotechnology industry icon, chiropractic physician, psychic, proctologist as well as a black belt in Tai Kwondo, Karate, Kung Fu, Ju Jitsu, Chung Moo Do, Pyong Hwa Do and Feng Shui long before he began his professional wrestling career training with the Von Erics.
One of his fellow students at the Von Eric camp was a young man by the name of Steve Williams. Williams would become known as the notorious Steve Austin. Buffwell injured his back, subluxing a number of lumbar vertebrae while helping a 350 pound woman back on to her bar stool during an evening of Christmas caroling and sightseeing with his fellow wrestling students. He stopped training and took a year off to allow time for his back to heal. Steve Williams (Austin) continued his wrestling training, taking all of Buffwells moves, material and ideas with him to WCW and WWF. All that was left for Doc was his charisma and great scientific mind.
Hollywood Doc Buffwell went on to become the creative force and co-star with Roddy Piper, Sony Chiba, Meg Foster, Kim Long and Tiny Lister (Zeus) in the film, Immortal Combat (1994). He also starred in the erotic thriller, Witchcraft X (1999), a film in which critics marveled at Buffwell's delivery of Shakespearean metaphor and described him as the next Sir John Geilgud.
Buffwell resumed his wrestling career for a short period until new and more serious injuries forced him into permanent retirement. During the remainder of his career he adapted his ring techniques to high flying, top of the rope finishes and Greco Roman mat work in order to distinguish himself from Austin. It is for this reason that we now play Doc's original entrance music.
Today, Buffwell lives a quiet, secluded life in a tropical climate where he spends most of his days in the Buffwell compound editing film project Hellcage 2000 and in his laboratory testing, researching and developing anti-aging serums.
