This page is dedicated to my new friend and pal, Davey O'Hannon. Davey and his faithful sidekick, Pete Sanchez, another seasoned and well liked professional wrestling veteran and I spent hours together at the Gold Coast Casino whirlpool each morning at the 2010 Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion in Las Vegas soothing our aches and pains. Once Davey and Pete learned that I was a promoter, the stories started a-coming.
Davey told stories about his days traveling the country as Irish Davey'OHannon, professional wrestler. I responded with some of my own and we laughed and laughed and laughed. One of my favorite of Davey's stories is about the time a moth attacked him in the center of the ring before a match, where with one quick swipe he snatched it, threw it to the canvass, waved off his babyface opponent and then dropped a big elbow on it. The booker in the back was none too pleased!

Davey, like many of our Irish-American brothers has a fine gift for "a tellin' of a story." He could easily be on the road as a stand up comedian, but why bother. Davey and his bride live near the New Jersey shore. When the weather is good, they spend lazy, happy days enjoying the sun, the sea and the fresh salt air.
Davey O'Hannon earned his living from 1971 to 1990 as a professional wrestler working for Vince McMahon Senior's WWF and the NWA. He wrestled all over the United States and around the world. He had multiple tours in Japan, taggng with the likes of a young Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheik. I've thought of asking Davey if he ever wrestled Ed "Strangler" Lewis but after due contemplation and reflection, considered it an unwise inquiry.
